Tips For Juggling The Household Chores

There are very few people in the world who look forward to doing household chores, but that doesn’t mean it’s something that can be avoided. Keeping your house in order takes dedication and planning, however it can still be done in ways that make it seem easy. Organization is key for making any task a breeze.

The first step is making a list of all your chores. You will need to think of every room in your house and what needs to be accomplished there. For example, in the bathroom you need to clean the tub, mirrors, windows, toilet and sink as well as refill the toilet paper, change out your hand towels, wash your shower curtains, change your bath mats, clean and empty the trash can, wash light fixtures, and mop the floors. Once you make a full list of the house you can organize your list by what you would like to accomplish on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Now that your list is organized by category and room you need to set up your cleaning checklist. Obviously the things that were set up on the daily chore list will be always on your list but how do you organize the rest? Count the number of rooms in your house and divide that number by overall cleaning time in a 4 week rotation. For example, during week one you may want to focus on your kitchen and bathrooms, week 2, your dining room and living room, week 3 your master bedroom and entrance way, week 4, your children’s rooms and spare/computer room. Your weekly chores should be broken up by days in the week also like on Mondays clean out the fridge or grocery shop, Tuesdays change the toilet paper and so on.

When finished you should have a complete list of daily, weekly, and monthly chores that you can organize in what ever order/style you want. This helps keep the chores under control and your stress level down. With great organization you are never more than 15 minutes away from being ready for guests. Cleaning can be easy when you have an action plan.
